Introduction
The course covers topics in theoretical and empirical issues related to competition policy and strategic competition. These include market definition, market dominance, mergers, coordination of market conduct, predation, IPRs, and technology issues.
Prerequisites
Intermediate Microeconomics, intermediate Industrial Organization, and related basic Game Theory, or some similar background such as Managerial Economics. You should understand Nash equilibrium and the basics of oligopoly theory. Also, you should be able to read and follow simple mathematical notation such as partial derivatives. I also assume that you have understanding of basic econometrics so that you can follow empirical papers.
